This initiative aims to create a collaborative space where municipal actors can co-design practical tools and share ideas on implementing the New European Bauhaus (NEB) principles—sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty—in real urban contexts.
The second workshop focused on further exploring the Decision Support System (DSS) that is being developed by our project. Participants were engaged in both polls and collaborative exercises to provide feedback on the tool’s functionality and relevance to their work.
Highlights from the second workshop
- 50% of participants described themselves as “somewhat familiar” with the NEB framework.
- 70% reported being “somewhat involved” in projects aligned with NEB values, while also expressed a need for training to better translate those values into action.
- There was strong interest in a dedicated tool to support municipal decisions, especially if supported by capacity-building efforts.
The participants were then divided into breakout rooms to take part in an interactive exercise to evaluate and prioritise DSS input categories. Key insights included:
- Categories like “CO2 emissions of buildings,” “RES implementation,” and “Stakeholder engagement” were flagged for needing clarification.
- Participants reported limited data access for key indicators, particularly around energy performance and financial metrics.
The Community of Cities series continues to grow as a platform for peer learning and co-creation. The next workshop in the series is coming soon!
